Introducing the Visioncare Scheme - our new contact lens care & payment plan

Historically the true cost of a contact lens examination is made up by an additional mark up on contact lenses and solutions.
Now that contact lenses have become widely available in supermarkets and particularly on the internet, patients are able to buy contact lenses and solutions at much lower prices than opticians have traditionally charged. As supermarkets and internet suppliers are not carrying out examinations themselves they do not have to cover the overheads, equipment and salaries associated with eye examinations and contact lens check ups. Hence they can supply contact lenses at greatly reduced prices.
This puts Opticians at a disadvantage when patients compare the prices of contact lenses. Therefore for us to compete on a level playing field we need to separate the cost

Exclusive to Users of our Visioncare Contact Lens Scheme:

The Visioncare Scheme is available to all our contact lens patients at a cost of £7.70 per month taken by Direct Debit. An example of the cost of lenses for patients on the Visioncare Scheme is:
Sauflon UV 55 Monthlies with All-in-One Light Solutions = £5.80 per month (£13.50 in total) with home delivery in UK
Ciba Focus Dailies 90 Pairs = £61.00
B&L Optima 38 Durable = £30.10 per lens
B&L Maxim in ML92 Gas Permeable = £33.80

If we charge the correct fee for these examinations we then no longer have to inflate the prices of our contact lenses and solutions to cover the cost of these examinations and we can charge much lower prices for our contact lenses and solutions. This enables us to compete very favourably with the supermarkets and internet suppliers.
